Please join us at Cacapon State Park in West Virginia for Poet Camp's Autumn Sleep-Away retreat! <3

 

We'll write together each morning, breathe in the fresh air and gorgeous colors, enjoy community and cheer each other's work at a group read-around around the literal campfire (weather permitting!)

 

Those who attend will get a packet of prompts, as well as time with the group to write for an hour each morning following our jumpstart format, and a 15 minute "micro consult" with me, to talk about whatever you like - pick my brain about the poetry life, chat about your new projects, or get a little nudge onward in a place you're feeling stuck. It's up to you how we spend this time!

You're welcome to walk the park, use the quiet to immerse yourself in your lines, or just enjoy the company of Poet Camp kindred spirits in your time at this retreat.​ Dive deep into whatever serves you you and your muse! You'll be encouraged to take what you like and leave the rest.

Friday, October 13 

​

1:00 p.m. Individual check in to Cacapon State Park

​

1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Solo writing time, settling in

​

3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Poet Camper Welcome with Sarah 

​

4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Free time (write, explore, connect)

​

6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Group Dinner, Cacapon Lodge Restaurant *This is subject to change. They have a limited menu. The group might decide to carpool to a nearby restaurant, instead.

7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Poet Camper Socializing (Board games, book swap, general shenanigans)

​

*Quiet hours at Cacapon start at 10 p.m., but of course, you're welcome to carry on in a muted way in your own rooms/cabins after this time!

7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Breakfast

9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Jumpstarts & Write-alongs with Sarah

10:00 a.m. - Noon Solo writing time, also scheduled 15 minute "Micro consults" with Sarah (I'll be reaching out to those who register to sign up for specific spots.)

Noon - 1:00 p.m. Lunch with Sarah & other Poet Campers

1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Free time (write, explore, connect)
